CALL FOR DESIGNS!
The Arts & Business Council of Rhode Island (A&BC/RI) is calling all artists and designers to help us create a collection of new and original Providence merchandise! T-shirts and postcards designed by YOU will go on sale at our brand new ArtTix information, ticketing, and retail space at 10 Dorrance Street, Suite 102. Sales will kick off on May 19th at 5:00pm when we officially open the new location and celebrate with drinks, hors d’oeuvres and music!
Designs should revolve around one of the following themes:
The City of Providence Providence Arts & Entertainment
Providence Historical Architecture Providence as a Culinary Center
Providence Neighborhoods Providence for Kids
A panel will review all entries and select one postcard and one t-shirt design for the Providence for Kids category, and one postcard and one t-shirt design from up to four out of the five other categories.
guidelines:
1. T-shirt designs must be submitted on CD and saved in PC format as a TIFF, EPS, PSD, or illustrator file with a minimum of 300dpi. Designs must not exceed 13″ x 15″ (11″ x 13″ for the Providence for Kids category) and may use anywhere from 1-3 colors. Please specify the t-shirt color (use of Pantone colors is fine).
2. Postcard designs may be submitted via email or on CD as a TIFF, EPS, PSD, or illustrator file with a minimum of 300dpi. Designs may be original illustrations or photographs and may be in black & white or in color. Postcards will be 4″ x 6″.
3. T-shirt designs are restricted to the front of the shirt. The artist may include his/her name or signature and a title or caption as long as it fits within the size guidelines. Postcards will include this information on the back of the card.
4. All entries must be accompanied by a hard copy of the design and a short bio that includes your name, address, phone and email. Artists may submit up to 3 designs distributed over any of the categories (more than one per category will be accepted).
prizes: Each of the winners will receive a $250 cash stipend, 10 representations of their original design as well as visibility at the ArtTix storefront, on our website, and in our eNewsletter.
deadline: All entries must be submitted to the Arts & Business Council of Rhode Island by April 21st. Emails should be directed to gilly@artsandbusinessri.org, and CDs should be mailed to or dropped off at our offices at 30 Exchange Terrace – 4th Floor, Providence, RI 02903.
