If you love the arts, but you aren’t an artist, here is the perfect opportunity for you: arts and crafts workshops for adults, led by high school students and young artists who participate in our year- round afterschool programs. Our specialized series of do-it-yourself arty workshops for adults are back by popular demand, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Bring your sweetheart and make your valentine’s gift together at New Urban Arts, an interdisciplinary art studio or come on your own and make it a surprise! Learn how to double pearl stitch a scarf to keep someone you care about warm this winter, make a one of a kind pair of earrings, or create a photo album or journal. No skills necessary for any workshop. Attending these youth-led workshops is a great way to show your love for New Urban Arts and support young people as artists and leaders. The workshop costs $35, which includes supplies, refreshments, and creative gift wrapping options. All proceeds benefit our free afterschool art mentoring program for high school students.
