Third Annual RISCA Fellowship Exhibition – Tonight!

CardJoin us at the Third Annual RISCA Fellowship Exhibition and help the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts celebration its 40th Anniversary!  Lt Governor Elizabeth Roberts and Mayor David Cicilline will congratulate this the 2007 Fellowship recipients follwed by musical performances by Folk Arts Fellowship recipient Barlow Healy and Music Composition Merit Award recipient Joseph Grimm.  

The RISCA Fellowship Exhibition will take open at Firehouse13 in Providence on Saturday, February 17 and will end on Wednesday, February 28.  The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Tuesday February 20 from 5-9:00 PM. 
This year’s exhibition will include paintings by Alfred DeCredico, professor of Foundation Studies at RISD; wire installations by CW Roelle who is rapidly gaining national attention for his intricate three-dimensional works; drawings by Chelsea Heffner, Director of the Hera Gallery in Wakefield; the beautiful craftsmanship of Nicholas Hollibaugh and a gorgeous collection of photographs by Photography Fellowship recipient Lucan Foglia.  Visitors will also experience video installations that include the choreography of Mark Harootian, dancer and choreographer for Festival Ballet, and listening stations include music by Music Composition Fellowship recipient Evan Johnson.

The public is also invited to attend the Fellowship Writers Night on Thursday, February 22 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, when literature Fellowship Award Winners will read from their most recent works   There will be three screenings of the film and video works of Raphael Lyon, Jo Dery and Xander Marro:  Friday, February 23rd from 4-6:00PM and Saturday, February 24th from 2-4:00 and 4-6:00 PM.
