Friday, February 23, 5-7pm: SALON – Founder Jodi Glass in a musical conversation on UNISONG. A non-performance community singing session, UNISONG is led by a different guest musical director each month to explore music from diverse sources and bring together people from different cultures, generations, genders, and musical experience in order to learn from each other and have a good tome. Participants needn’t read music, prepare, or have previous experience singing with a group. Join us to converse, and to sing or just listen! Sunday, March 4, 3pm: Annual Meeting: The Annual Membership Meeting of the Providence Athenaeum will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 3pm in the Reading Room. This is official notice of this meeting. Public welcome!

Friday, March 9, 5-7pm: SALON – Lovecraft’s Legacy! Pulp Uncovered: How Pulp Fiction Magazines Changed America, a cultural festival, will be presented March 15-18 by the John Nicholas Brown Center for the Study of American Civilization. Join festival creators for readings and a conversation about H.P. Lovecraft’s towering influence on all things pulp. A selection from the Athenaeum’s collection of Lovecraftiana will be on display. And: Thursday, March 22, 7:30pm: Providence Premieres: PSQ at the Athenaeum, part 2: the Providence String Quartet plays Bartok’s Third. This wonderful evening includes not only a concert, but conversation with the musicians. To maintain the intimate, salon-style atmosphere for this special series, audience is limited to 60 seats, and we only have 20 tickets remaining.
