This fall’s session of classes has just been announced on the Steel Yard website. Learn a number of industrial arts including, welding, blacksmithing, ceramics, glass, jewelry and metal casting. Along with our popular welding workshops and wheel forming courses, many new classes are offered this season. Ever wanted to build your own BBQ? Now you can with “Build a Barbecue Smoker and Learn How To Use It” (convenient, huh?) Increase your metalworking skills, or get a great introduction to studio work with “Sculptural Welding: Thinking 3-D” and “Introduction to Sheet Metal Forming,” both brand new to the Steel Yard’s lineup. Our favorite Georgian blacksmith, April Franklin, returns for another Bladesmithing course. In this class students will learn to forge their own blades from steel. There are many new and returning courses to peak your interest, so be sure to check out our online catalog or drop by your local coffee shop and look for our print catalogs.
