Friday Night Live is Everett Dance Theatre’s uproarious improv comedy troupe, on parade and in-the-flesh Friday evenings at 7 at the Carriage House Stage, scheduled every week between October 5, 2007 and June 6, 2008.  Get beside yourself with FNL’s interactive scenes and on-the-spot musicals, featuring improvised song, dance, and skits!  Performances are intended for audiences of all ages, personality types, and food groups.

Friday Night Live unites a diverse cast of veteran Everett artists, young up-and-coming performers, and live guitarist/composer Bertrand Laurence, in the production of fun, funny, creative, and meaningful performances.  In the process, FNL demonstrates on-your-feet communication skills in a highly sophisticated (and ridiculous) manner.

This versatile cast is equally adept with the serious as well as the silly, as shown in last year’s performances at the University of Rhode Island’s STRANGE FRUIT:  An Exhibit on Lynching and Hate Crimes, and the Carriage House’s own We’re Talkin’ ‘Bout Love, a youth forum on love and relationships.  Through original performances, videos, and discussion forums, Everett approaches a multitude of topics with skill and nuance, and in the process, the vital voices and perspectives are brought into the public sphere that so desperately needs to be heard.

While Everett has toured to critical acclaim throughout the country over the past two decades, it has also continued to grow deep roots in Providence, especially at its home theater and school, The Carriage House.  A new team of young artists has emerged at the Carriage House, and is beginning to change the face of Everett as the company enters its third decade.  The FNL cast includes the brother-and-sister team of Aaron and Rachael Jungels (both 20-year Everett veterans), Sokeo Ros (10-year Everett member, and director of the hip hop dance troupe, Case Closed), guitarist-in-residence / vocal coach Bertrand Laurence, and young performers Ari Brisbon, Clayon McFarlane, Bianca Morris, Andrea Sterling, and Edgar Viloria.
