Director of Education
Position available July 2005, reports to Executive Director
The Director of Education is primarily responsible for leading the education department in developing and implementing of high quality exhibits, programs and services that fulfill the Museum¹s mission. S/he heads a department of nine staff members (five direct reports) and approximately 25 volunteers, student interns and AmeriCorps members.

Admissions Clerk, Part time (20 hours per week, flexible)
The Admissions Clerk is primarily responsible for ensuring a welcoming and helpful experience for all visitors to the Museum by:
- maintaining efficient operation of admissions desk including opening and closing cash register, counting register drawer daily
- assisting customers with admissions payment, processing payments using cash register, (cash, check, VISA/MC)
- increasing sales of Museum membership by ensuring visitors know the value of a Museum membership
- having in depth knowledge of Museum pricing structure and all discount opportunities; maintaining current knowledge of membership sales procedures and special promotions;
- keeping visitors well informed, both through Museum brochures and through conversation in person and on the phone, about Museum programs and functions; keeping Museum brochure racks tidily stocked with current information; and helping resolve visitor questions and complaints
- providing friendly welcome to all Museum visitors

Exhibit Educator, Part time (8-20 hours per week)
The Exhibit Educator is primarily responsible for facilitating positive learning experiences in the Museum’s exhibits and programs.
- Interacts with children and their caregivers to encourage play and exploration
- Responds appropriately to a variety of visitor learning styles
- Uses exhibit content in effective manner to stimulate individual learning
- Responsible for keeping exhibits functioning and welcoming throughout the day
- Is knowledgeable about the Museum, its programs and events
- Assists Education Managers as needed with greeting groups, setting up programs, and other tasks as assigned

Spanish-speaking Bilingual Exhibit Educator, Part-time (8-20 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
The Spanish-speaking Bilingual Exhibit Educator is primarily responsible for facilitating positive learning experiences in the Museum’s exhibits and programs.
- Interacts with children and their caregivers to encourage play and exploration
- Responds appropriately to a variety of visitor learning styles
- Uses exhibit content in effective manner to stimulate individual learning
- Responsible for keeping exhibits functioning and welcoming throughout the day
- Is knowledgeable about the Museum, its programs and events
- Assists Education Managers as needed with greeting groups, setting up programs, and other tasks as assigned

Program Assistant, Part time (Families Together)
Part-time assistant needed to transport families at risk, office work. Background in human/social services, child development, family studies. Saturday’s required. Bilingual a plus. Resume to Families Together Director, Providence Children’s Museum, 100 South St., Prov., RI 02903
