COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Arts Commission is currently accepting entries for the 2006-2007 Southern Circuit independent film tour. The deadline is Feb. 28. Sponsored by the SC Arts Commission, the annual touring program allows winners to screen their films to audiences throughout the Southeast.
Winners will receive air travel within the United States, a per diem to cover food and lodging and an honorarium for each screening during their film tour. They will present their individual films – screening from 45 min. to 1 1/2 hours – at each site. Each show will be followed by a half-hour discussion.
“The SC Arts Commission is excited to receive entries for next year’s film tour,” said Southern Circuit Director Susan Leonard. “It is always such a pleasure to view the diverse and creative works submitted by some of our nation’s most notable independent filmmakers each year.”
Southern Circuit, currently in its 30th year, is an annual touring program showcasing independent filmmakers.
