Program for ages 13 and up, Soapstone Carving, with art history,

July 14-19: 14th Annual Catskills Irish Arts Week, East Durham, New

York: Celtic Relief Carving in Limestone. Five day intensive, part of

expanded art and craft offerings at this highly respected Irish

traditional music “week”. Choose morning or afternoon session. Info

Planning ahead? Working with young people? Your organization may be

able to apply for RISCA Arts in Education Grants, which may cover part

of the cost of running a class or workshop in Rhode Island.

Deadlines are October 1 and April 1.

Please note that while these classes do not include instruction in

carving letters or inscriptions, many students have used some

techniques learned to do letter carving later on their own.
