Hive Archive hosts focus groups for creative women in Providence
Dear Friends of The Hive Archive,The Hive Archive is hosting two focus groups for creative women who live
and/or work in Providence as part of Creative Providence: A cultural plan
for the creative sector. As you may know, Mayor Cicilline recently launched
Creative Providence to explore the strengths and weaknesses of the capital
city’s creative community. The Creative Providence cultural plan will
become a guide to public policy, private initiative, and investments for the
citizens of the city to build a sustainable creative community.
As part of this effort, The Hive Archive is organizing two Creative
Providence focus groups. I hope you will join us for either:
Thursday, December 4th *or* Thursday, December 11th
Both groups will meet at 7:00pm at my place (67 Hillside Ave).
I invite you to join us in this important community-wide conversation about
arts, culture, and creativity in Providence. We will consider what is
working and what needs improvement in Providence’s cultural landscape in the
context of the city’s current and future conditions. This will be a meeting
of creative women who live and/or work in Providence in a casual and safe
setting – please come prepared to share your thoughts, visions, ideas, and
feelings about our City. I will share a summary of our discussions with the
Creative Providence initiative to help define issues and suggest actions for
the cultural plan.
Both meetings will be the same so you need only attend *one* focus group. If
you would like to participate, please respond to
the.hive.archive@gmail.comby Monday, December 1st and let me knowwhich meeting you would like toattend and if you plan on bringing anyone with you. As you may know, my
apartment is small and and space will be limited – be sure to reserve a spot
soon.
