“NetWorks 2008″ panel discussion Sunday February 1
Please join AS220 and the Providence Public Library for a panel discussion on a collaborative art project called “NetWorks 2008″ on this Sunday February 1, 2009 at 2:00pm in the Barnard Room (3rd fl) at Providence Public Library’s Central Library, 150 Empire Street, Providence, RI 02903, (401) 455-8000. The event is free and open to the public. The discussion will be moderated by Sara Agniel with panel members: Joseph A. Chazan, MD, a friend of artists and co-creator of the project; Umberto Crenca, Artistic Director of AS220; Nancy Whipple Grinnell, Curator of The Newport Art Museum; and Richard Goulis, artist and video production manager for the project.
NetWorks 2008 is a project co-developed by Dr. Joseph Chazan, and Umberto Crenca. This unique project was designed to highlight the work and achievement of influential Rhode Island visual artists through exhibitions, video & photographic portraits, publishing and community panel discussions. It also brings together an unprecedented and diverse range of collaborating art institutions and administrators to celebrate the rich, creative energy of the State. Exhibitions, events and venues include: The Newport Art Museum, The AS220 Project Space, 5 Traverse Gallery, The Gallery at City Hall, and the Providence Public Library. A catalog by Design Providence featuring artwork, portraits and video documentaries on DVD is also available.
Artists include: Howard Ben Tré, Jonathan Bonner, Umberto Crenca, Ruth Dealy, Walter Feldman, Lucas Foglia, Mark Freedman, Richard Goulis, Scott Lapham, Salvatore Mancini, Xander Marro, Denny Moers, Jacqueline Ott, Eliizabeth Pannell, Timothy Philbrick, Angel Quinonez, CW Roelle, James Watkins, and Toots Zynsky.
