Previous pottery classes have focused on the hand-building method of coiling practiced for centuries by Native Americans. This new advance course will focus on several design techniques practiced in the past and currently used by Native artists across the country. Students will be expected to be comfortable with coiling pottery.
The design techniques to be taught will be appliqué, carving, stone polishing, and scraffito. Glazing, for those interested will also be introduced in this 6 week advanced class.
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 10am -12 noon in a six week session.
Cost: $65 per session- materials included.
