Art League of Rhode Island at Hera

March 26th, 2006, 2:00pm -3:00pm*: The Art League of Rhode Island in collaboration with Hera Gallery hosts Michele Leavitt in a gallery talk and slide presentation: “First, Do No Harm; The Art of Recycling”. Michele’s background in art spans generations of folk artists and quilt makers. Her father’s work included the more formal discipline of graphic design and typesetting. Michele and her family moved from the Midwest to New York where Michele became influenced by the art of Jasper Johns, Marisol and Louise Nevelson.Michele was educated at Cormell Universtiy and Rochester Institute of Technology. Together with a rich heritage in art and a fantastic sense of working with a variety of materials, she has created her unique art. We are invited to understand the playful and complicated spirit of her creative process in what will surely be a fun and lively presentation. March 26th, 3:00pm – 3:30pm*: The Art League of Rhode Island in collaboration with Hera Gallery hosts sculptors Margot Rubin and Belinda Gabryl for an informal talk about their art. They will address questions from the audience.*Admission is free and open to the public
