OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING
Adults & youth ages 16 and up
The ability to do representational drawing is an important skill even for those who may choose to work in other styles. This class will help participants develop their skills to make accurate drawings based on observation. Sessions will focus on objects, still life arrangements, interior spaces, landscape, portraiture, and the human figure. Various drawing medium will be explored: pencil, charcoal, ink, markers, etc. Participants should expect to spend a few hours each week working outside of class on practice assignments.
The class is open to adults and youth ages 16 and older. Most college art programs expect the applicant’s portfolio to include observational drawings. This class is very relevant to those thinking of applying to art schools.
