INTERNET FOR ARTISTS: Using the Internet to Build Community, Promote Your Work, and Increase Administrative Effectiveness

RISCA has partnered with the Alliance of Artists Communities, the City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism, The Rhode Island Foundation, and Rhode Island School of Design’s Career Services Department to bring Creative Capital’s 3-Day Internet for Artists workshop to Rhode Island on April 8-11 at RISD’s Upper Met, 50 Waterman St. This weekend workshop will help participants expand their online presence and learn to harness the power of internet tools such as social networking and media sharing sites, e-commerce, promotional websites, and blogs. Beginning with an overview of internet terminology and applications, the workshop will explore how these resources can be used to build audience, expand community, amplify marketing and extend administrative resources. Participants will develop a step-by-step, holistic strategy to apply online resources to promote specific career goals. Additionally, the workshop will help artists expand their thinking to quickly recognize and implement the possibilities of new technologies as they develop. The workshop employs a combination of lecture, small group breakout sessions and one-on-one consultations to help participants gain the maximum of personalized attention while encouraging community-building as part of the workshop process.

RISCA se ha asociado con la Alianza de Comunidades Artisticas, (the Alliance of Artists Communities), El Departmento de la ciudad de Providence de Arte, Cultura + Turismo, (The City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism), la Fundación de Rhode Island,(The Rhode Island Foundation), and El Centro de Servicios professionals de Rhode Island School of Design (Rhode Island School of Design Career Services), para un taller de Internet de 3 días desde el abril 8 hasta 11 de abril en el Upper RISD Met, 50 Waterman , Providence, RI. Este taller de 3 dias ayudará a los participantes ampliar su presencia en línea y aprender a aprovechar el poder de las herramientas de Internet; como las redes sociales y sitios para compartir los medios de comunicación, comercio electrónico, sitios web de promoción, y blogs. Empezando con una visión general de la terminología de Internet y las aplicaciones, el taller explorará cómo los recursos pueden ser utilizados para construir una audiencia, expandir la comunidad, aumentar la comercialización y ampliar los recursos administrativos. Los participantes desarrollarán paso a paso una estrategia para aplicar recursos en línea para promover los objetivos específicos de carrera. Además, el taller ayudará a los artistas ampliar su pensamiento para reconocer y aplicar rápidamente las posibilidades de las nuevas tecnologías. El taller cuenta con una combinación de conferencias, pequeñas mesas de trabajo en grupo y uno a uno las consultas para ayudar a los participantes obtener el máximo de atención personalizada al mismo tiempo fomentar la creación de comunidades como parte del proceso del taller.
