Trinity Rep Summer Camp Now Enrolling Junior Camp (grades 5-7) and Senior Camp (grades 10-12) to meet July 10-Aug 4 Trinity Rep’s Textron Young Actors Studio, now in its third successful year of classes and workshops, is proud to announce the creation of the Trinity Rep/Textron Young Actors Studio Summer Camp, an intensive four-week program that runs Monday through Friday from July 10th through August 4th. The program is now accepting applications and is expected to fill quickly. Trinity Rep’s courses are exciting, performance based classes which place emphasis on the development of creative expression. The Summer Camp will be offering two sections, a Junior Camp for students entering grades 5-7 which meets from 9 am to noon and a Senior Camp for high school students entering grades 10-12, which meets from 1 pm to 5 pm. Summer Camp classes at Trinity Rep will offer students of all interest levels the unique opportunity of working with Trinity teaching artists for a dynamic summer of skill building and ensemble work. The Trinity Rep/Textron summer camp faculty include Artistic Director Curt Columbus, Resident Acting Company members Fred Sullivan, Jr., Mauro Hantman, Angela Brazil and Joe Wilson, Jr. and Education Director Tyler Dobrowsky. The classes will work and rehearse in the new state-of-the-art Pell Chafee Performance Center (home to the Brown/Trinity Rep Consortium), located at 87 Empire St., Providence. The Junior Camp (entering grades 5-7) will focus on three of the most important disciplines in theater: movement, voice and story-telling. In addition, workshops will be devoted to other important areas of theater, including a technical explanation of what goes on “behind the scenes”. The class will culminate in a performance available to friends and family. The Junior Camp will meet Mondays – Fridays from 9 am – 12 pm, July 10 – August 4. Junior Camp enrollment fee is $450 and enrollment is limited to a maximum of 20 students For advanced students, the Senior Camp (entering grades 10-12) will focus on four major elements of acting: scene study, using the works of Chekhov, Ibsen and Tennessee Williams; improvisation; playwriting; and Shakespeare. Students will have the opportunity to speak with directors and playwrights, attend workshops on film and spoken word, and will be given a technical overview of the elements of theater. The class will culminate in a performance available to friends and family. Senior Camp will run Mondays – Fridays from 1 pm – 5 pm, July 10 – August 4. Senior Camp enrollment fee is $600 and is limited to a maximum of 16 students.
