The 2006 Port of San Diego Sculpture Show will be the most visible community wide sculpture exhibit ever presented on San Diego Bay. It’s poised to grow into one of the most important sculpture shows in the country. The exhibit will open October 6, 2006 in what can become an annual signature event for San Diego, the Port of San Diego will present the Sculpture Show, where more than ten thousand people will converge on South Embarcadero Park to interact with artists during the weekend long sculpture show.
Enhanced by the dynamic bayside setting and the spectacular renaissance of downtown San Diego the Sculpture Show will attract thousands of San Diego residents, art collectors, and visitors. From the seasoned art collector to the next generation art enthusiast, the Sculpture Show will have something for everyone.

PURCHASE AWARD:
The Port of San Diego Public Art Committee has recommended a $50,000.00 line item for art purchase at the 2006 Port of San Diego Sculpture Show. The budget will be approved July 2006.

ARTIST ELIGIBILITY
The festival is open to all applying artists over the age of 18. All works must be original and made by the entrant. If two or more persons collaborate to produce an original work, each person must be identified on the application. All artists must be present on site during the entire Festival.
