Conanicut Island Art Association invites entries to Jamestown Town Hall Gallery Show

January 9, 2012: Artists are invited to enter their original artwork in pastels, charcoal, and watercolor in the next Jamestown Town Hall Gallery show, sponsored by the Conanicut Island Art Association.

The CIAA is pleased to announce that the juror for the show will be William Heydt, a noted watercolor artist based in Newport. He is known for his “Newportant People” portraits, shown at the Newport Art Museum and elsewhere. Heydt’s characteristic style places restaurant staff, artists, ministers and other local friends in their work or social environments. His work may be seen on: http://www.williamheydt.com.

Drop off work on Thursday, January 19, 2012, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m., in the Town Hall at 93 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown. This show will hang from January 23 – February 28, 2012, decorating the public interiors of our Town Hall with the work of local artists. First, second, and third prizes will be awarded.

Up to 3 pieces may be entered by each artist. Non-members are welcome, and may join the CIAA at intake. Member’s entry fees are $10.00 for the first piece and $5.00 for each additional piece entered. Non-member’s fees are $15.00 for the first piece and $5.00 for each additional piece entered. All work must be properly framed, dry, wired, and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers are allowed. The maximum weight is 20 lbs., and maximum dimensions are 48” wide and tall. For 3D work, because of display limitations, no work should be wider than 12” or taller than 18”.
