“The Roots Of Acting” Class Details:
Introductory Acting: Concentrates on voice articulation, basic stage
movement and individual scene work. Students will work with poetry and
two monologues–one classic and one modern. No experience required.
Class culminates with performance for invited audience.
Advanced Acting I– Students will work with one classic and one modern
monologue, a sonnet, and do scene work with up to four partners. Some
previous experience required. Class culminates with performance for
invited audience.
*For those who have taken an Advanced class with Mr. Pitts-Wiley or
another program, you can interview for the following course (schedule
to be determined)*
Advanced Acting II– (Must have taken a prior advanced class) Students
will work on two scenes–one classic and one contemporary–with two to
six partners. Intensive individual work on a classic or modern
monologue. Class culminates with performance for invited audience.
WHERE
Unless otherwise noted, all classes will take place at Mixed Magic
Theatre, located in the Hope Artiste Village at 999 Main Street in
Pawtucket, RI (just over the Providence-Pawtucket line).
WHEN
Introductory Classes: 12 class hours. Tuesdays, 7pm-10pm, June 5-26.
Class Performance: Wednesday, June 27. 7:30pm. Mixed Magic Theatre.
Advanced Acting I: 16 class hours. Saturdays, 10am-2pm, June 9-30.
Class Performance: Saturday, June 30. 7:30pm. Mixed Magic Theatre.
Advanced Acting II: TBD by enrollment.
PRICE
Introductory: $100. $50 prior to first class. $50 prior to third
class.
Advanced: $125. $62.50 prior to first class. $62.50 prior to third
class.

Ricardo Pitts-Wiley is an accomplished actor, director, playwright and
composer. He has performed at noted theaters throughout the United
States including The Actor’s Shakespeare Project in Boston, Trinity
Repertory Company in Providence, RI, The Old Globe Theater and San
Diego Repertory in San Diego, North Carolina Black Repertory, Rites
and Reason and Perishable Theater. He has also performed at the North
