Valley Arts Festival

Valley arts fest

The 2nd Annual Valley Arts Festival will showcase the next generation of artists on the UMass campus in Amherst, Massachusetts from August 19-21, 2005. Actors, artists, comedians, dancers, directors, designers, filmmakers, musicians, photographers, poets, and writers will be showcased throughout the weekend. A company of actors, choreographers, directors, designers, dancers, and writers will be formed to premiere new work. New films will be showcased, fresh music will be heard for the first time, and visual art will be shown in galleries across the campus. Industry guests will be on hand as the young festival already has a reputation for drawing some of the best up and coming artists from across the country.

Today, media conglomerates all too often dictate art in America. The Valley Arts Festival is devoted to promoting independent-minded expression. It is organized by and for young artists. This truly unique event is produced by young artists aged 15-26, and they are currently accepting submissions. Submit your work and join in this unique, inspiring event! Together we can connect, create, and empower. Spread the word.

The Valley Arts Project is a non-profit organization based in Western Massachusetts run by and for the next generation of artists in all fields. Through events, discussions, and theory development, the Valley Arts Project works to refute the concept that an independent-minded artist can only be a starving artist. We envision a future with strong support mechanisms for the young artist – allowing them to be financially stable while still maintaining their own voice.
