Community MusicWorks is a community-based organization, entering its 10th year, that connects a professional string quartet with urban communities in the South Side and West End of Providence. Through a variety of innovative programs, the organization works to combine music education with community development. The staff includes the members of the Providence String Quartet, who have multiple roles as teachers, performers, and administrators, the Director of Development, who is responsible for fund development and concert management, and the new Fellowship Program Coordinator and 2 Musician Fellows. The organization seeks an Administrative Coordinator to manage the organization’s office and assist with general administration, program activities, and fundraising efforts.
The Administrative Coordinator plays a critical role in the functioning of the organization. The Administrative Coordinator is highly visible to the public, manages information systems, assists the Executive-Artistic Director in daily operations, and manages the organization’s office. We are looking for someone who is: a self-starter comfortable working both independently and as a member of a team. excellent with people, and has a sense of humor. familiar with the functioning of a non-profit organization. experienced with office operations, able to establish priorities, balance demands of multiple projects, and meet deadlines; enthusiastic about community-based social change work. enthusiastic about or would enjoy learning about classical music. able to communicate in Spanish (preferred).
The job will include: Disseminating information to the public about programs. Maintaining a FileMaker Pro database of confidential student and donor information. Managing an organized, well equipped office. Assisting Executive-Artistic Director in general correspondence and communication with Board of Directors. Assisting with fundraising activities, direct mail, and events. Monitoring budgets for cost effectiveness of program. Collecting and analyzing data; preparing scheduled and special reports; maintaining program records and statistical information. Supervising Administrative Interns and volunteers Assisting with student registration and program coordination. Duplication of materials for use by board, staff, and public. Maintaining Human Resources data and benefits plans. Other duties as assigned by the Executive-Artistic Director.
Other requirements: Excellent writing skills. Microsoft Office and Filemaker Pro software skills College degree (preferred) This is a 40 hour/week full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend event commitments. The salary range for this position is $25K-29K, including health and dental coverage.
