Rhode Island Heritage Festival 2011

34th Annual RI Heritage Festival & RING Celebration of Diversity

RISCA partnered with RI Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission, the RIHPHC committees, RI National Guard, The Peace Flag Project to celebrate our state’s rich cultural heritage. The event was held at Roger Williams National Memorial Park on 282 North Main St, Providence, RI that held cultural booths from Bolivia, Guatemala, India, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Haiti, Laos, Cambodia, Sweden, Ireland and many others that showcase their culture, music and dance. RISCA partnered with RI Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission, the RIHPHC committees, RI National Guard, The Peace Flag Project to celebrate our state’s rich cultural heritage. The event was held at Roger Williams National Memorial Park on 282 North Main St, Providence, RI that featured over 15 countries celebrating art, music, food and cultural displays.   held cultural booths from Bolivia, Guatemala, India, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Haiti, Laos, Cambodia, Sweden, Ireland and many others that showcase their culture, music and dance.  It featured the 88th Army Band “Rock and Load”. Cultural Displays by African American Subcommitee, Alliance Francaise de Providence, Ballet Folkorico Guadalupano (Mexico), British/Scotland Subcommitee, Cambodian Society of RI, Center for the Art & Culture of the Americas (Peru), Columbia en RI, Damhsa Irish Dance Foundation, Guatemalan Subcommittee, Haiti Subcommittee, India Subcommittee/India Museum & Heritage Society, International Gallery for Heritage & Culture/Ghana, International Institute of RI, Korean Subcommittee, Laotian Community Center of RI, Mali Subcommittee, RI Rhythm & Blues Preservation Society, RI Swedish Heritage Association, Turkish American Cultural Society of RI, The NENACW Planning Committee. Informational Booths: Books are Wings, H & R Block, Neighborhood Health Plan of RI. Food Booths: Antojitos Deportivos (Guatemalan), Ballete Guadalupano ( Mexico), Julianna’s Restaurant (Bolivia-Peru), Mama Kim’s Korean BBQ, Portuguese Social Club, RI Japan Society, Taste of India and Tina’s Jamaican Restaurant.
