RISCA Grants for Education

RISCA recognizes the invaluable role that Rhode Island's non-profit organizations play in creating a vibrant and inclusive place to live. RISCA aims to strengthen and sustain this sector through our grants and services to organizations, helping to ensure a lasting creative community for all Rhode Islanders.

Project Grants for Education

Learning in and through the arts plays a critical role in the growth and development of our youngest citizens. Project Grants for Education (PGE) provide support to teaching artists and cultural organizations collaborating with schools and other educational entities, in order to (1) increase access to high quality curriculum-based arts learning for all RI children and youth, (2) foster the professional development of teaching artists and educators, (3) ensure that all RI youth are able to demonstrate proficiency in one or more art forms at or before graduation from high school. The deadline for PGE grants is April 1 (for grant activities between July 1 and June 30) and October 1 (for grant activities between Jan 1 and June 30).

Big Yellow School Bus Grants

Funded in part by Bank of America, RISCA's Big Yellow School Bus grant program provides up to $400 to Rhode Island schools and pre-schools to underwrite the cost of field trips to attend arts events such as live music, dance or theatre performances, exhibits at art museums, etc., as well as the cost of coverage for classroom teachers involved in the field trip. There must be an arts component to the trip. Applications to this program are accepted on a rolling basis as funds allow.

Grants are now available for 2015-2016 school year field trips. Sign up for our mailing list to receive future grant announcements.
